Note of Progress, as per release date:

the design of the letters has reached a level quality ready for a first release. The ornaments also. The BM Bless Type System currently contains a base set of Latin glyphs. The kerning is also basic, predominantly focused on capitals. Future considerations are: overall tighter tracking, minor design adjustements in certain letters, glyphset expansion depending on demand, design or a narrow version.

Styles

BM Bless

If you image the entire Bless Type System as a fancy cake, BM Bless is the base dough. Sturdy yet sofisticated, but most importantly functional and without frilly bits, it can be used for a plethora of display applications. Available as a static file, containing regular glyph outlines.

BM Bless OO Var

If BM Bless is like the base dough, the BM Bless OO Var represents cherries, icing and chantilly. It's available as a variable font, with 9 ornament and one "stretch" axis, and it is missing the regular glyph outlines. As decoration, it was intended to be uses on to of BM Bless, but using it by itself might open doors to completely unexpected aesthetics.

BM Bless Var

When you finaly assemble your cake, putting the cherries and icing onto your base dough, the cake is complete. BM Bless Var is the fully mounted type system in all its glory, offering the user ornate letters with an enormous breadth of customisation. Available as a variable font, with both ornaments and glyph outlines.

Usage

Layering

Each static font, as well as the variable files, contain fallback shapes. These are the black outlines that are used in a traditional digital font. If you see these shapes, and the colour axes aren’t responding on input, this means you are using the font in an environment that doesn’t support COLRv1. These fallback shapes are not intended for regular typographic use.

Instances

Activate the SS01 feature to swap your lowercase a and g to a more simple construction.
